Paul Honey’s musical career began as a chorister at Westminster Abbey, where he sang daily in the choir. Since graduating from Southampton University, he has enjoyed a highly varied career, not only working as a composer and arranger, but as a performer, musical director and record producer.

Early on in his career he worked primarily as a pianist and keyboard player in jazz and world music, performing and broadcasting in Europe, North America, Japan and Australia. However, in the last few years he has concentrated on working as a composer and arranger both in media and for the concert platform. He has worked in television, composing the music for over 80 programmes (including Brum, Badjelly The Witch and the Bafta-nominated Boohbah) that are now broadcast throughout the world. He has also composed music for commercials and for cinema. Most recently, he orchestrated and co-produced the song ‘Lost Without Your Love’ for the film Closing The Ring, directed by Richard Attenborough. He is also a prolific composer of library music.

He has also been in collaboration with the well-known Irish violinist Dermot Crehan on a collection of pieces for Irish soloists and orchestra. An album of the music was recorded with the RTE Concert Orchestra in Dublin in 2007 and will be released in March, 2009.

Recent projects have included a commission of a new 20 minute work for violin and choir, string arrangements for Joss Stone and  composing additional music for director Peter Richardson's new film 'The Golden Road'.
